“Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Room”

Before digital photography predominated, photographers used celluloid film. Filmmaker Lyndsay Ellis Bloom welcomed students to her hand-built darkroom at Bread & Salt and shared with them how to develop 35mm film, a medium in which the artist still works. Kids continued to chemically manipulate and attempt to process sun-print cyanotypes, with zero consideration to filters or special effects apps.
