w/ Shaun O'Dell + Angela Berry
Bay Area artists Shaun O’Dell + Angela Berry collaborated with kids on a site-inspired drawing-collage at Felicita Park. Nature myths originating from many cultures about the oak tree were told. Participants were then led through a series of exercises to interact with oaks and natural objects in the park—from observational drawing, to rubbing and tracing. Xeroxed black & white images from myths were transferred and used as elements alongside their work to construct a scene on a preprinted, silkscreened “stage,” where new tales emerged.
